Positions Available
Most positions will commence June 2024, until mid to late September 2024. Due to the nature of the ski industry, start and finish dates will be dependent on the snow conditions and guest occupancy. The Man from Snowy River Hotel is an equal opportunity employer and applicants with the highest qualifications will be given preference in employment. You may be asked to work in other areas, if necessary, as we always work as a team. You must come with a strong work ethic and be prepared to work hard as this is a REAL job.
We encourage all staff to take advantage of living on the mountain as we share passion and enthusiasm for skiing and snowboarding. However, all staff must be of the understanding that your first priority is your job.
Staff will be employed on a casual basis and remunerated as per the Hospitality Industry Award 2010.

Front Desk |

All team members of the Front Desk will be responsible for welcoming our guests upon arrival, responding to guest enquiries, following check-in and check-out procedures and taking telephone bookings. Previous experience working on a hotel front desk and accurate cash handling is essential. Excellent computer skills are essential. To join this team you will be guest-orientated, enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our guests have a memorable experience. High standards of presentation and grooming is a must, as is your enthusiasm for providing exceptional service. June - End September |
Chef |

As part of our team, our chefs work together to deliver cuisine of the highest standards to our guests. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality food in fast-paced kitchen environment and formal qualifications are required. You will work closely with our head Chef and General Manager across several food and beverage outlets in the hotel. We serve Breakfast, lunch and dinner in our dining room and lunch and dinner in our pub. Like all our staff, Chefs will be rostered on rotating early and late shifts in order to give you some time out to enjoy Perisher. Mid May - Early October |

Bar Staff |

The public Bar at the Man From Snowy River Hotel is iconic and is one of Australia's most famous pubs. It is the venue for regular entertainment on the mountain. The lounge bar, located adjacent to the Dining Room, provides a relaxed environment for guests to wind-down after the day and serves our guests throughout dinner service. All bar positions require a NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate and competency card and a Food Handling certificate. A minimum of 3 year's experience working in a fast-paced bar and cash-handling is required. Applicants with previous experience in cocktail preparation will be highly regarded. Housekeeping - POSITION FILLED |

Housekeeping and Cleaning/Maintenance staff are responsible for the professional presentation of guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. Attention to detail, and a friendly and courteous manner are essential for all positions in Housekeeping and Cleaning/Maintenance Room Attendants ensure a pleasant stay for all of our guests through the immaculate presentation of guest rooms upon arrival and through daily servicing. Previous experience is preferred, however an eye for detail and a hardworking attitude will ensure your success You will need to be able to commit to work from mid May - early October. |
Kitchen Hands - POSITION FILLED |

Kitchen Hands assist our team of chefs by ensuring all aspects of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene prior to, during and after service times. Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand is essential. Preference will be given to anyone with cooking experience. Mid May - Early October |
Restaurant waiters |

Our restaurant staff are responsible for providing friendly and professional table service during breakfast, lunch and/or dinner service. Fine Dining Service experience is preferred. A minimum of 2 years experience in restaurant or hotel dining rooms is required, in addition to a NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. High standards of presentation and grooming is a must, as is your enthusiasm for providing exceptional service. Additional shifts in housekeeping are available on change over days, and may be required by all staff. June - End September (varying start & end dates) |
Kids Club - POSITION FILLED |

Our kids club team work each evening 5-9pm in our busy kids club. You will need experience with child care and a super fun and energetic attitude to entertain children of all ages with games and craft. Additional shifts as a food and beverage attendant are available so you will also need some food and beverage experience. You will need to have a current NSW working with children clearance. Duty Managers |

Our Duty Managers report directly to the General Manager and are responsible for all hotel operations in the General Manager's absence. You will need all round hospitality management experience to apply for this job. To apply for this position, you must have experience in managing very busy bars or nightclubs. You must be very familiar and comfortable with managing late night venues. Experience in restaurant operations (fine dining service) is also required. Our Duty Managers will need to be able to understand how the front of house operations work, from housekeeping through to front desk and reservations. You will need a NSW RSA certificate and competency card to apply for this position. Mid may - Early October |
Restaurant Manager - POSITION FILLED |

Our Restaurant Manager is one of the most important jobs in our hotel, as they get to meet and know every single one of our in house guests. We are looking for a super friendly, genuine and caring person to host our guests. You must have previous experience in fine dining service and managing/supervising a busy restaurant. Attractive salary package includes your weekly board at the hotel. Our restaurant manager works breakfast and dinner service with the majority of the day free to enjoy skiing or boarding. Maintenance - handy person/porter - POSITION FILLED |

If you like to tinker and know how to fix things then we are looking for you. An experienced tradesperson; carpenter, plumber or electrician is required to look after the maintenance of our hotel. A minimum of 3 years experience required. Must be well presented as you will need to attend to guest rooms, when required and assist in portering and with our car park. Drivers licence is essential, as you will need to move guest cars when required and will have to apply for a snowmobile license (which we will assist with). This position is for May - October |

Storeperson |

Experience in stores, inventory and procurement. This position is MON-FRI (variable hours, 4 days per week) and would suit someone living in Jindabyne. Must have experience. The stores person will assist with deliveries and packing away stock for food and beverage, as well as housekeeping operations. Checking off deliveries, processing invoices into our POS systems. Stock taking. |
